Nicole Hinsdale, Death, Malvern, Pennsylvania Obituary: Dedicated Swim Coach and Mentor Is Dead

The community of Malvern, Pennsylvania is mourning the death of Nicole “Nikki” Hinsdale, a beloved swimming coach, educator, and aquatics leader who passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2026, at the age of 43. Her loss has deeply affected families, students, athletes, and colleagues throughout the Malvern Preparatory School and Malvern Swim Association communities, where she spent years guiding young swimmers both in and out of the pool.

Nicole Hinsdale joined the Malvern Swim Association in 2013 before later serving as Aquatics Manager at Malvern Prep, where she became known for balancing discipline with compassion. A graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in Environmental Geography, Nikki also worked extensively as a swim instructor, clinic coach, and certified yoga instructor. Parents consistently described her as patient, calming, and genuinely invested in helping children grow with confidence. In a world overloaded with performative “leadership” speeches and motivational clichés slapped onto coffee mugs, people like Nikki quietly did the actual work of changing lives every single day.

Following news of her passing, the Malvern Prep community organized a fundraiser titled “Supporting Boone’s Future in Nikki’s Memory” to help support her young son, Boone. The campaign quickly surpassed its original fundraising goal as former swimmers, coworkers, parents, and friends came together in support of her family. The response itself became a reflection of how many lives she touched over the years through mentorship, encouragement, and consistency.

As tributes continue pouring in, Nicole Hinsdale is being remembered not only for her accomplishments in aquatics and education, but for the kindness, steadiness, and genuine care she showed to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
